New additions to the festival in 2024 including (1) a fabulous, FREE breakfast provided by the Orem Neighborhood Commission; (2) an extended Orem Farmers Market throughout the day on Saturday, and (3) an awesome firework show to cap off the evening concerts provided by Orem City.
Although we had a few minor rain delays on Saturday mid-morning, the music flowed throughout the day. Several die-hard fans put on their rain gear and continued to join the show; while others scattered to the nearby Orem Park pavillion - returning once the rains parted (see the rain photos in the Photo Gallery). The rains stopped mid afternoon and everyone parted until 10:00 pm (when the fireworks began). What a wonderful end to this year's festival.
The Classic and Exotic Car show was bigger and more creative than ever than ever. The audience enjoyed seeing some great entries, including Wonder Woman riding an army vehicle.
The fans really enjoyed having several first time acts join us including Ronstadt Live (Linda Ronstadt Tribute band) on Friday evening, showcases from the academy at Best in Music, country flare from Exit 99 (really enjoyed their contry-stylized version of Crazy Train from Ozzy Osbourne); the reuion of the band St. Thomas Axis that orginated in Utah Valley a long time ago, and more.
We were prviledged to have an official visit from Orem City Mayor, David Young and several members of the Orem City Council, who were on-hand to give out awards for best-in-show from the Car show and to participate in many giveways, including a guitar awarded by Best in Music (Orem), a sewing machine from Dave's Bernina, a Spray-in Truck bedliner from Jordan Camper, Minky blankets, and hundreds of gift certficates for meals, food items, grocery store purchases, etc.
All and all, a memorable fetival for 2024
