Come Together Rock Festival was held at Orem City Center Park on Friday, August 20th and Saturday, August 21st, 2021. This was our first post-COVID, large scale concert and people really came out to party. The show featured 27 bands on stage over the 2-day event.
Again, we enjoyed working closely with the City of Orem to make this event a great success, drawing on making the show an extension of Orem's Summerfest event that kicked off summer. Orem City advertised Come Together as the end-of-summer, concert event. The show was advertised on a billboard at University Place Mall (see photo gallery). There were also large flag banners along Orem Center street inviting people to come join in the FREE festival.
KSL did a radio interview with our own John Pilmer (ULCF PR) and Matt Rushton (ULCF Social Media) talking about the re-emergence of "Live" music events, post COVID. Click here to listen to this interview.
Audience participants won lots of great prizes and giveaways featuring an electric guitar given away by Orem's Best in Music. One of the fan favorites was the In-N-Out Burger booth where people would spin a giant wheel and earn free food items. There was a football through challenge with members of the Orem High and Mountain View High schools threw a football through a tire target. Lots of fun.
Dave Wilbur's Rock Lab featured 2 bands to kick off Saturday morning at the festival (The Alpha Variant and The Omega Strain).
We raised over $500 for the Utah Valley chapter of the Alzheimer's Association in connection with their annual Walk to End Alzheimer's.
The Beatles Showcase: consisted of 5 bands, each playing 5 Beatles songs in their own unique style for a 2-hour, concert-within-a-festival experience. We invited Seniors from Orem-based, Senior-Care Centers to come and listen. NOTE: although some of the bands were the same ones that performed in the Payson, Here Comes The Sun, Beatles Showcase, we had some new ones join us as well.
Unexpected surprise by the band Moe Low when they are joined on stage by a Bagpipe soloist (at both the Payson and Orem Festivals in 2021)
