Here Comes the Sun - 2021
This was the inaugural, kickoff of Here Comes the Sun Rock Festival held at Payson Memorial Park on July 30th and July 31st, 2021. We had a total of 26 bands that performed (including the 5 bands that appeared in the Beatles Challenge on Saturday morning).
We had great support from the people in Payson who turned out to hear some great Classic Rock performances. Payson City was an excellent host providing the Park venue, vendor exhibits, food trucks and more.
A few of the unique highlights of this event included a welcome from Payson City's mayor, Flag Ceremony provided by local veterans, the Beatles Challenge Showcase, Youth Bands (The Pressure and Silver Sting) and a really fun tribute to Footloose with dozens of local dance students.
The event featured lots of audience participation games (e.g. trivia, dart throwing, football toss, putting on frozen t-shirts, and more). Our sponsor, Boothe Music gave away a Jackson electric guitar and amp (see photo gallery) as well as a ukulele.
The Beatles Challenge: consisted of 5 bands, each playing 5 Beatles songs in their own unique style for a 2-hour, concert-within-a-festival experience. We invited Seniors from local Senior Care Centers to enjoy the festivities.
